What to Wear in Corfu: Summer Packing List

What you wear in Corfu depends on the time of year you visit and the daily activities you plan to do. The summer months are hot and humid with full sun for most of the day, while the fall and winter months are cooler and get heavy rains.

If you’re looking for what to wear in Corfu in summer, this guide is for you! I list all my recommended clothing, accessories, and necessities for a comfortable, yet fashionable, Corfu trip.

When I visited Corfu for the first time at the end of June, it was close to 100ºF (38ºC) every day with high humidity. Wearing anything tight or constricting was too uncomfortable while walking around!

On my second visit to Corfu at the end of September, we had multiple days of rain storms and cold(er) weather. A stark contrast to the first trip and completely different set of clothes to pack for Corfu!

You’ll likely want to pack a variety of cute outfits for days exploring Corfu town, multiple swimsuits for hanging out at the beaches and swimming in the sea, and a few dresses for dinners out.

While you absolutely can and should wear all of those types of clothes in Corfu, pack half the amount of clothes you think you need (or pack them all if you don’t mind over-packing and like to have lots of options!).

What to Wear in Corfu: Summer Packing List + Outfit Ideas

Average high/low temperatures in summer by month:

  • June: 84°F (29ºC) / 64°F (18ºC)

  • July: 90°F (32ºC) / 68°F (20ºC)

  • August: 90°F (32ºC) / 68°F (20ºC)

  • September: 82°F / 63°F (17ºC)

These averages are not always accurate, as summer is prone to heat waves of triple-digit (F) temperatures and rainy days will bring the temperature down significantly.

Clothes to Wear in Corfu

As much as I like to pack for what will look best wherever I am going, being comfortable is a top priority for me.

Corfu is such a gorgeous island with so many things to do. What you’re wearing won’t be top of your mind as you take in sweeping views of the sea or tour an award-winning olive oil mill.

For things to wear in Corfu, I recommend comfortable clothing that doesn’t restrict your movement or impede your ability to do activities. Of course, looking good is always a bonus!

What to Wear in Corfu: Packing List + Outfit Ideas

Tops: Tanks, Tees, & Long-Sleeves

Packing tops that are both light in color and weight is ideal for the hot and humid summer in Corfu. White tops are my go-to since they can be worn with any color shorts/pants and help keep me cool!

You can also go with cream, light blues, light greens, etc. for your colors.

Where to get tops for Corfu

  • Abercrombie: Most of my wardrobe is Abercrombie because of their high quality and well-designed clothes, so they’ll likely be listed throughout this post. They have basic tees and tanks that are perfect for mixing and matching, as well as oversized button-up tops that are perfect for a swimsuit coverup.

  • Beyond yoga: Their Spacedye tanks with built-in bras are my favorite for days of hiking or exploring a lot. They are tight, but super stretchy and made to sweat in.

  • Sabo Skirt: They have the most unique and fashionable tops, sets, and dresses at Sabo Skirt. I love their flowy, white tops!

Bottoms: Shorts, Pants, & Skirts

For the same reason as the tops, loose & flowy shorts are key to comfort for summer in Corfu! Stretchy shorts are ideal because you can pull them on over swimsuits and wear them for hiking.

I like the versatility of shorts because they can be worn all day, no matter the activity. Shorts with some polyester are ideal if you want to avoid wrinkles, though I’m a big fan of linen shorts and am at peace with their wrinkles.

Where to get bottoms for Corfu

  • Madewell: Their linen shorts were a staple on my month-long Europe trip where we spent two weeks in Italy and a week in Corfu! I wore them often.

  • American Eagle/Aerie: The It Knit Skort is my all-time favorite skort. It’s super stretchy, has built-in shorts, and comes in regular length or a longer length for a bit more coverage.

  • Abercrombie: Their pull-on pants are perfect for a beachy, summer trip. I love these linen-blend pants with a stretchy waistband and pockets!

Dresses: Mini, Midi, & Maxi

I love a good travel dress! The best dresses for travel, and Corfu in particular, aren’t too long (mini or midi), have a loose and flowy skirt for optimal movement, and are comfortable to wear all day.

White and warm-toned dresses work best for photos in Corfu. A white dress really just works for any scenario, but especially looks great in Corfu. I typically travel with a white dress when I’m visiting warm, beachy destinations!

Cool-toned dresses look great if you want to stand out in the orangey-yellow buildings in town and match with the sea and sky.

Where to get dresses for Corfu

  • Fortunate One: Their wide selection of white dresses has something for everyone! They also carry dozens of dresses with different colors and patterns.

  • Reformation: For high-end dresses you can wear casually or for a nice dinner out, the midi dresses at Reformation are my favorite. It’s a splurge, but the dresses are high quality and timeless styles that will last for many years.

  • Abercrombie: They really have it all! Their mini and midi dresses are some of my favorites for travel. The Mila Cap Sleeve Mini Dress would be adorable in Corfu!

Matching Sets

Sets are great because you can mix and match them with your other tops and bottoms, while also pairing them together for an effortless put-together look.

Where to get matching sets

  • Sabo Skirt: The best place to get matching sets is Sabo Skirt. They have hundreds of sets to choose from in all different colors and styles.

  • American Eagle: I have matching sets from American Eagle that I’ve worn at least 50x. They have so many different sets, including skirts and tops, linen pants and button-ups, and tanks and shorts.

  • Hello Molly: This brand has tons of sets with tanks, blouses, shorts, skirts, and pants. They also have lovely dresses!

Swimwear

On hot summer days, you’ll likely want to live in your swimsuit at the beach. I definitely did on my first trip to Corfu when we had 100ºF days!

Do not underestimate the importance of a comfortable swimsuit. If you go on long day trips around the island and wear your swimsuit under your clothes, something that’s incredibly comfortable is ideal.

Where To Get Swimwear For Corfu

  • Vitamin A Swim: This is one of my all-time favorite swimwear brands, focused on sustainable swimwear and beachwear.

  • Aerie: For affordable, comfortable, and cute swimwear, Aerie is the go-to brand. They also have the best swim cover-ups for low prices.

  • Monday Swimwear: All their swimwear is beautiful and well-crafted, but this is the best place to get one-piece swimsuits that are actually cute and flattering!

Accessories

Accessories in a place like Corfu tend to be more practical, like hats and sunglasses to keep the sun out of your face and hair off your back.

You can absolutely accessorize with jewelry and other things if you want to, but I don’t like wearing jewelry in hot and humid weather!

Accessories to Pack for Corfu

  • Hats: There isn’t much shade when you’re walking around town or at the beach. A sun hat is nice to have to protect your face, neck, and shoulders from the sun!

  • Sunglasses: My favorite place to get affordable sunglasses in all different styles is ASOS. Their tortoise shell sunglasses are what I wear most days and always pack for trips.

  • Backpack: I always travel with my anti-theft backpack because it’s spacious, can’t be pick-pocketed, and it goes with any outfit!

Shoes

A bad pair of shoes can easily ruin a trip — blisters or painful feet are awful when you are exploring and walking 10,000+ steps a day. For Corfu, I recommend packing three pairs of shoes: sandals, walking shoes, and water shoes.

  • Sandals: You can wear sandals for the majority of your time in Corfu. They’re good for both the beach and walking around, as long as they’re comfortable!

  • Walking shoes: For hikes or long days of walking, a good pair of walking shoes is great to have. I love the Allbirds Tree Runner Go for cute and comfy walking shoes, and New Balance Trail Runners for hiking trails.

  • Water shoes: Many beaches in Corfu are rocky and not nice to walk on with bare feet. There are also many sea urchins in the shallow water, and having water shoes will give you more protection from them.

    • I wore my Reef Water Vista Sandals and they were great as water shoes, but I don’t recommend them for walking 5-10 miles a day as they did give me some blisters while walking all day in them.

    • You can also get super affordable water shoes on Amazon.

Other Items to Pack

  • Reef-safe sunscreen: You should always wear reef-safe sunscreen to protect the coral reefs from damage caused by specific ingredients in some sunscreens. COOLA is my all-time favorite sunscreen brand and I pack it on every trip! You can get it at Ulta or Amazon.

  • Owala water bottle: I always travel with an Owala water bottle (the 24oz ones are the perfect size) so I can stay hydrated during those long, hot days at the beach.

  • Mosquito repellent: Corfu has lots of mosquitoes! Mosquito repellent is necessary to use, especially when sitting outside for dinner in the evening.

  • Bite Away: This is optional and depends on your comfort level, but Bite Away is so handy if you get a lot of mosquito bites. It has a small, heated ceramic plate that you put on your mosquito bite (as soon as possible), and in my experience, it stops it from itching or getting bigger!

  • Turkish towel: These are ideal for travel because they’re thin and barely take up space. You can use it as a beach towel, blanket, or swim cover-up. I have a WetCat turkish towel and love it! They have tons of different colors, too.

  • Universal adapter: If you aren’t from Europe and don’t use the same plugs as they do, you’ll need a universal adapter to charge your devices.

  • Shampoo/conditioner bars: I exclusively use Ethique shampoo and conditioner bars both at home and while traveling. They’re the absolute best and my favorite travel hack — saving space in your liquids bag! You can get them at Ulta or directly on their website (this link gives you 20% off your first purchase).
