What to Wear: Summer in Corfu, Greece
During the summer months, Corfu is hot and humid. When I was there at the end of June and beginning of July, it was 95-100ºF (35-38ºC) daily – much hotter than the average temperatures according to Google.
I had over packed all different clothes for the 10 days we were there, but ended up wearing about a third of what I packed because any clothes that touched or hugged my body were uncomfortable in the heat and humidity.
Average temperature each month (high/low):
June: 84°F (29ºC) / 63°F (17ºC)
July: 89°F (32ºC) / 67°F (19ºC)
August: 89°F (32ºC) / 68°F (20ºC)
September: 82°F / 63°F (17ºC)

Practical Clothing
We’ll start with the practical stuff! While I like to pack for what will look best in the surroundings and in photos, I do love comfort.
Light & Airy Tops
I prefer more light-colored and light-weight clothing in this kind of weather. I’ve picked out a few tops I own and recommend, as well as others I would buy myself if I were shopping for a Corfu trip!
Loose & Flowy Shorts/Pants
For the same reason as the tops, loose & flowy shorts are key! They’re great to pull on over swimsuits and comfortable enough for hiking. I like the versatility of shorts because they can be worn all day, no matter the activity.
Plus, they’re cute enough to wear out to eat!
Instagrammable Outfits
I love a good dress for photos, but sets and rompers have become a favorite as well! Personally, I think dresses, sets, and rompers are still practical, especially in the heat, but maybe less so than shorts and tank tops.
Dresses
I love a good travel dress! White and warm-toned dresses work best for photos in Corfu to go with the ocean and the yellow and orange walls of Corfu Town. A white dress really just works for any scenario, but especially looks great in Corfu.
Cool-toned dresses look great if you want to stand out a bit more in town, and match better with the ocean and sky.
Sets
Sets are great because you can mix and match them with your other tops and bottoms, while also pairing them together for an effortless put-together look.
Rompers
For a quick and easy outfit that pulls right over your swimsuit, a romper is a great option. It works well because you’ll feel a bit more comfortable walking around or hiking in a romper than you would in a dress, without losing the cuteness of a dress.
Swimwear
I over packed massively for our Corfu trip. I didn’t anticipate it being so hot and ended up wearing my swimsuit with a dress or shorts over it most days.
Do not underestimate the importance of a comfortable swimsuit! Especially if you’ll be doing long day trips where you’ll wear a swimsuit all day.
My favorite brands for comfortable and flattering swimwear are Vitamin A Swim and Aerie.
Accessories
I’m definitely more practical when it comes to accessories! For summer trips, hats, sunglasses, and sandals are my go-to accessories – along with a tote bag to hold changes of clothes, sunscreen, and anything else I carry with me each day.
Hats
There isn’t much shade when you’re walking around or at the beach, so a nice sun hat is great to protect your face, neck, and shoulders from the sun!
Sunglasses
Shoes
Sandals were the main type of shoe I wore, but water shoes were 100% necessary for most beaches due to rocks and sea urchins, and I wore one good pair of walking shoes for our Porto Timoni hike (couldn’t do it in sandals!).
