Hi, I’m kessler!
I’m a California native who grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. After high school, I moved to Santa Barbara for four years and graduated from UC Santa Barbara. Upon college graduation, I moved to San Diego for two years where I worked, took art classes, and met my now-husband!
After moving up and down the coast, I ended up back in the Bay Area where I currently live with my husband and two kitty brothers (Captain Jack and Sparrow). My second home is Santa Barbara, which I visit every few months and know better than my hometown.
At the end of 2023, I quit my 9-5 job at a large tech company in the Bay Area to run my blog full-time, travel, and enjoy life.
Among my many passions and hobbies, travel and photography have remained consistent favorites. Writing helpful travel guides and sharing photos from my trips is what I find most fulfilling.
My Timeline of Travels
Some of my travels throughout my life! This timeline doesn’t include everything and leaves out all our domestic trips around the U.S. in my childhood, but it hits the major travels.
2007 - I took my first international trip to Costa Rica with my mom and a group of kids, parents, and teachers from my school.
June 2016 - Went to Australia with my family to meet up with some friends from there. We explored both Sydney and Cairns. I’d love to go back one day and see more of Australia!
June 2017 - I flew solo for the first time to stay with my friend in London and go to Santorini together. This was the trip that inspired me to start my blog on March 6, 2018!
June 2021 - After a year and a half without seeing each other because we were still long-distance and couldn’t visit each other during COVID, Kevin and I decided to meet in Corfu and had the best trip! It’s my favorite place I’ve ever been.
September 2021 - Our family and close friends traveled to Maui for our usual annual trip (which had been paused due to COVID) and we eloped on a beach just before sunset.
April 2022 - Our first road trip together! Kevin and I road-tripped from California through Nevada, Utah, and Arizona in just 10 days.
September/October 2022 - We traveled to Kauai to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and explore the island with the eyes and mind of a travel blogger.
June 2023 - Kevin and I took a 2-week road trip through Eastern California down Highway 395.
June 2024 - I checked off a major item from my bucket list when we visited Saint Vincent and the Grenadines — one of the main filming locations for Pirates of the Caribbean 1 & 2!
