7-Day Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Itinerary
Spending 7 days in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is enough to see a few islands and take a day trip to the Tobago Cays.
This itinerary is a slight variation of our trip, but it was altered to be a better version of our itinerary! It covers the three islands we visited, things to do on each one, places to eat, and my recommended hotels.
Finding information about Saint Vincent and the Grenadines online can be tricky, especially when you’re planning a trip rather than going on a tour or cruise.
I hope you find this itinerary helpful as you plan your trip to these beautiful islands!

7-Day Itinerary Overview
This is a quick overview of the itinerary I recommend following if you only have 7 days! It will give you two nights on a total of three islands.
Day 1: Arrive in Saint Vincent
Day 2: Saint Vincent
Day 3: Saint Vincent to Union Island
Day 4: Tobago Cays Day Trip
Day 5: Union Island to Bequia
Day 6: Bequia
Day 7: Bequia to Saint Vincent to Home
Day 1: Arrive in Saint Vincent
The international airport in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is on the main island, Saint Vincent.
The original airport on Saint Vincent was much closer to Kingstown, the country's capital. The current airport was built to accommodate the larger planes for international flights and is now much further away from the main towns on the island.
Taxis line up at the arrivals area and are ready to pick up passengers. We had a great driver and ended up getting his WhatsApp number to book rides with him for the rest of our time on the island! I recommend you do this with your driver as well if you like them.
We stayed at Mariner’s Hotel and had a lovely stay. It’s right on the beach, there’s an on-site restaurant that makes meals convenient, and it was overall a good location between the airport and Kingstown.

Best 4-star hotel: Mariners Hotel

Depending on what time you arrive at your hotel, you can settle in, have lunch or dinner, and relax for the evening. If you arrive early in the day, I recommend exploring the surrounding area!
Day 2: Saint Vincent
Although it is a small island, it feels huge once you’re there because it takes a long time to drive between cities.
The roads are small, not well-maintained, and wind up and down the hilly terrain. This is why we opted not to rent a car — felt much better to have an experienced taxi driver navigate the roads (they drive on the left side, by the way!).
Things To Do in Saint Vincent
On your full day, I recommend picking just a few activities you want to do. You can always add more if you have time! It can be easy to overestimate the time it takes to get to each location.
Tip: If you can, contact the driver who picked you up from the airport and book them for the full next day. This way you will have no issues getting from place to place.
Wallilabou Bay
My main priority during our trip was to visit Pirates of the Caribbean filming locations, with the main one being the set of Port Royal in Wallilabou Bay. If this is your priority too, then make Wallilabou Bay your first stop!
Wallilabou Bay is far up the west coast, about midway up the island. It takes about an hour to drive from Mariners Hotel to the Pirates of the Caribbean set at Wallilabou Bay.
Some of the Port Royal town set is still standing! There is a restaurant/bar where you can get a meal and enjoy the views while being surrounded by Pirates of the Caribbean posters, props, and other memorabilia. The food was great too!
Dark View Falls
If you’re up for a hike with some waterfalls, then drive further up north to the Dark View Falls trail. Ensure you’re prepared for a hike with trail shoes, a swimsuit/change of clothes if you want to go under the falls, and plenty of water.
Saint Vicent and the Grenadines can be incredibly hot and humid, so stay hydrated and wear sunscreen!
We unfortunately didn’t have time to hike Dark View Falls during our short stay on Saint Vincent. For more information about Dark View Falls from people who have visited, the TripAdvisor Reviews are a great place to look!
Kingstown
We only got to drive around the historic capital of Kingstown, but it was such a cool area! The town was bustling with people, which was a completely different experience from the other areas we visited on Saint Vincent.
Kingstown is back down the west coast of Saint Vincent and will be on the way back to your hotel if you’re staying at Mariners Hotel.
There isn’t a whole lot to do in Kingstown besides exploring the town!
Visit St. Mary’s Cathedral. It is impossible to miss this church with its uniquely historic architecture that stands out among the other surrounding buildings.
Peruse the Kingstown Fish Market. It has fresh fish, fruits, vegetables, and more!
Go shopping! There are clothing and jewelry stores throughout the streets. I wish we had made some time to get out and visit these shops during our stay!
Official Pirate’s Pub. Grab a rum punch at this pirate pub right in the heart of Kingstown.
Where To Eat in Saint Vincent
We had most of our meals at our hotel since the on-site restaurant was good and it was convenient!
All of the hotels we stayed at during our trip had on-site hotels, which I highly recommend. Some days were so hot and humid that it was nice to just take a few steps from our room to the restaurant for a meal — or even just a drink!
Saint Vincent Restaurants
French Verandah: This is the restaurant at Mariners Hotel. Everything we had here was good! They had nice fish and pasta dishes, as well as a great breakfast menu.
Wallilabou Anchorage: The plates of food here were delicious and I loved that they had a veggie plate! I’m not entirely sure what everything was, but it all tasted good. There’s also nothing like drinking rum while sitting inside the set of Pirate of the Caribbean and looking out at the Caribbean Sea!
Official Pirate’s Pub: We didn’t make it to this pub for their highly-rated burgers, but I did bookmark it well before our trip! If you’re in Kingstown looking for a meal, this is the place.
Day 3: Saint Vincent to Union Island
On your third day, take the Jaden Sun Fast Ferry from the Kingstown Ferry Terminal in Saint Vincent to Union Island.
This ferry is a long one, about 3 hours in total, with stops at some of the other Grenadines along the way. Union Island is the last stop. If you’re planning to island hop, I recommend reading my guide to island hopping in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
You will need to plan your trip around this ferry schedule, as it does not run from Saint Vincent to Union Island every day. The schedule changes depending on the season and holidays and is subject to cancellation if the seas are too rough.
Union Island has experienced horrible devastation from Hurricane Beryl. If you are visiting, consider volunteering to help rebuild if possible.
Where To Stay on Union Island
Depending on your hotel, you can arrange for a driver to pick you up from the ferry terminal when you arrive.
We stayed at Tenuta Chatham Bay and it was our favorite hotel the whole trip! Their driver was incredible and took us all around the island during our stay.
This is the only hotel on the Caribbean Sea side of Union Island. It’s a gorgeous bay where many wealthy people anchor their yachts (some well-known billionaires have been here).
Their on-site restaurant is incredible, they have a pool with views of the sea, and they have individual cottages for the rooms that are luxurious. There are different packages you can choose from, depending on if you want an all-inclusive stay or just book the room.
Note: Tenuta Chatham Bay was sadly destroyed in Hurricane Beryl. They have worked hard to rebuild and are now taking bookings for 2025. It may look different from my photos since I took them before the hurricane.
Where To Eat on Union Island
If you do stay at Tenuta Chatham Bay, then I recommend having all your meals here. They were by far the best we had during our trip to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines!
We also had a 10/10 lunch on Petit Rameau during our Tobago Cays Day Trip.
For the rest of the island, we didn’t eat anywhere else so I can’t make personal recommendations, but here are a couple of highly-rated restaurants on Union Island:
Barracuda Restaurant and Bar in Clifton
Chantaclair in Clifton
Sunn Dipp in Chatham Bay is just down the beach from Tenuta Chatham Bay, but it was also destroyed in the hurricane and I am unable to find out if they have rebuilt.
Things To Do on Union Island
Union Island is a tiny island where everyone knows each other. It has colorful buildings and kind, friendly people. Although there isn’t a ton to do, I wish we had spent another night or two here!
Island Tours
If you have the chance, book a tour with Roseman at the Union Island Environmental Alliance! He was our driver during our stay on the island, but he also does tours. He’s incredibly knowledgeable about the island and passionate about sustainability.
Tobago Cays Day Trip
This is the activity we visited Union Island for! The Tobago Cays were high on my list and it ended up being the highlight of our entire trip.
We booked our trip with Klem, who lost his home and boat in the 2024 hurricane. He currently has a GoFundMe to help him purchase a new boat so he can start tours again.
Day 4: Tobago Cays Day Trip
Spend your full day on Union Island exploring the Tobago Cays! There are a few water taxis that offer day trips to the Tobago Cays from Union Island, though they are difficult to find online.
As mentioned above, we went on a private trip with Klem, though he will not be hosting tours until he gets another boat.
I recommend following his Facebook Page for updates! This is the only tour I’ve been able to find information about online and the only one I can personally recommend.
Day 5: Union Island to Bequia
Depending on the ferry schedule, you may need to depart from Union Island a day earlier or a day later. The schedule changes and does not run every day from Union Island to the upper Grenadines and St. Vincent.
If you can depart from Union Island on day 5, you will head to Bequia on the Jaden Sun Fast Ferry. Your hotel will likely contact you to schedule a taxi to pick you up from the ferry terminal.
We stayed at the Bequia Plantation Hotel and loved it! The location was perfect, they had an on-site restaurant, and our room had incredible views of the turquoise sea.
Day 6: Bequia
Bequia is just south of Saint Vincent and possibly the prettiest of all the Grenadine islands. The harbor is always dotted with yachts and other ships that dock here for the gorgeous bay.
It’s a tiny island with a small town center, where everything is just a few steps from each other. Port Elizabeth is famous for being the supposed base for the pirate Edward Teach, also known as Blackbeard.
Things To Do in Bequia
The best thing to do in Bequia is to walk around and enjoy the views! There’s a lovely boardwalk along the coast from Port Elizabeth to the Bequia Plantation Hotel with restaurants along the way.
The beach right in front of the Bequia Plantation Hotel is beautiful and has beach chairs for hotel guests. You can even order food and drinks from the hotel restaurant to be delivered to the chairs!
Recommended post: Where to Stay on Bequia
There’s also a short trail next to the Bequia Plantation Hotel called the Princess Margaret Trail, which takes you around the cliff to a long boardwalk to another beach.
Venture into town to check out the colorful buildings, stop into the shops, and get a feel for the local life here!
If you skip Union Island or aren’t able to do a Tobago Cays day trip from there, you can choose from a few different tours that depart from Bequia!
Where To Eat in Bequia
To be completely honest, we did not enjoy the food in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines overall (though we did have a few great meals, which I’ve mentioned throughout this post) and Bequia was our least favorite.
We both got slightly upset stomachs while in Bequia. The tap water is not drinkable and while we stuck to bottled water, the tap water may be used when cooking in some restaurants.
We aren’t entirely sure of the cause but thought it was worth mentioning so you can be prepared. Side note: I never travel without my travel pill container!
Bequia Restaurants
Mac’s Pizza & Kitchen: Great pizza and great smoothies! The portions are large and service was friendly (not super common in SVG, despite us being as friendly and polite as possible!).
Bequia Pizza Hut: Not to be confused with Mac’s Pizza, this colorful, photogenic building is in town. We didn’t eat here during our trip, but it has great reviews and looks so cute!
Frangipani Hotel: This is a restaurant at a hotel and I had a great pasta here! After not having the best meals, the pasta was a safe and perfect choice.
Bequia Plantation Hotel: Luckily we had mostly great meals at our hotel restaurant! Breakfast was included and they always had a great spread of options. There were a couple of things we had that weren’t amazing (I wasn’t a fan of saltfish), but the fish & chips were delicious!
Laura’s Restaurant: This restaurant was the best one we went to in Bequia! I unfortunately still had an upset stomach and wasn’t able to eat much, but what I did taste was great. My husband said his meal was amazing! We didn’t go until our last night and were bummed we didn’t have another day to return.
Sugar and Spice Café: Grab frappes and yummy baked goods from this spot! Their chai frappe was delicious.
Not recommended: We had dinner at the Fig Tree one night and it was our least favorite meal the whole trip. Not saying you shouldn’t go there and try it for yourself, this was just our experience!
Day 7: Bequia to Saint Vincent to Home
On your last day, head back to Saint Vincent on the ferry. If you have a flight that day, be sure you leave plenty of time to take the ferry and get a taxi to the airport!
The Bequia Express runs between Saint Vincent and Bequia multiple times a day and takes about one hour. It departs from Port Elizabeth. You can read more about it in my island hopping guide.
If you can spare another day and make this an 8-day itinerary, I recommend staying the night at Mariners Hotel again so you can get a nice rest before flying home the next day.
This is what we did and were thankful to not have to jump from ferry to taxi to plane all in one day!
10-Day Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Itinerary
If you have more time, 10 days would be an ideal length to explore each island, take a few day trips, and have a more relaxed itinerary. It also makes it easier to plan around the ferry schedules!
Recommended 10-Day Itinerary
Days 1-4: Saint Vincent
Three nights in Saint Vincent will give you time to settle in, explore more of the island, and enjoy the start of your trip at a slower pace.
Days 4-6: Union Island
Two nights on Union Island still gives you just one full day on the island, but there isn’t a ton to see/do aside from some hikes and day trips to the Tobago Cays.
Days 6-9: Bequia
Three nights on Bequia may seem like a lot for such a small island without a ton of activities, but there are also more day trip options from Bequia.
Multiple catamarans depart from Bequia for full-day tours to the Tobago Cays and Southern Grenadines, which is a great option if you don’t do one from Union Island.
Day 9-10: Saint Vincent & Home
Spend one last night on Saint Vincent before you have to fly home the next day. Alternatively, you can spend just two nights on Bequia and then spend your two last nights on Saint Vincent.
