There are tons of things to do in and around the Bay Area, and many of them are an easy day trip! These are the best places to take a day trip and things to do in each place.

Sausalito is a town on the bay just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco. It’s charming, a bit upscale, and gorgeous.

One of my favorite hidden gems in Northern California is the town of Felton. It’s a small town tucked into the redwoods with an incredible railroad camp from the 1800s!

The 17-mile drive stretches from Monterey to Carmel-by-the-sea, winding along the coast with gorgeous lookout spots throughout the drive.

San Mateo is a lovely town with a Japanese Tea Garden, great restaurants, and a nice downtown. It’s a great spot for a day trip!

Just a dozen miles north of Santa Cruz is the hidden gem Davenport, California. It’s an incredible coastal city with jaw-dropping beaches and small-town vibes.

You read that right. A DAY TRIP to Yosemite! It’s completely possible if you live in the Bay Area, or even within 200 miles of Yosemite.

The Golden Triangle of Andalusia is made up of Córdoba, Granada, and the capital, Seville. We visited all 3 cities during our month-long trip exploring Europe!

I lived in San Diego for 2 years and ate my way through North County. I frequented the less expensive restaurants since we weren’t exactly swimming in extra cash – mostly in Encinitas – but this list includes cheap eats, fancier restaurants, and good old pubs/breweries.

There are two main areas of the island that people often stay – Honolulu/Waikiki and the North Shore. As you can imagine, the North Shore is the Northern end of the island while Waikiki is near the Southern end. Both sides of the island have a lot to offer and the one you choose depends on your personal preference.

Have you ever been somewhere that was so incredible you didn’t feel like you were actually there? That’s exactly how I felt while walking through the Alhambra in Granada, Andalusia, Spain. Even now looking through photos it’s hard for me to believe it is real – and I was there!

Visiting Belgium in February was cold, gray, and rainy like much of the year, but it made Bruges feel that much more magical. The old, long-standing buildings paired with the canals running through the city make this city fit for a fairy-tale setting.

Santorini has beautiful weather in the Summer and usually hovers around 80ºF/27ºC between June and August. Shop my recommendations to keep you cool, comfortable, and looking great in photos!

Just 50 miles North of Santa Barbara is Figueroa Mountain in Santa Ynez which is currently blooming with Poppies and Wild Lupine– about an hour and a half drive from Santa Barbara.

One thing that most people struggle with while traveling (including me) is taking nice photos in popular tourist destinations without hoards of tourists around.

While planning our month-long Europe trip, we had one night we needed to fill between Paris and Seville. Looking for a place somewhere between the two, we picked Barcelona. Our trip was planned around art museum visits, architecture, and beautiful landscapes, so the city built by Gaudí was a perfect choice.

For our Winter Europe trip, we chose to rent out Airbnbs instead of staying in hotels or hostels (besides our one night at a hotel in Barcelona). We got lucky in Seville and found the most beautiful Airbnb in the city…
