Where to Stay in Santorini, Greece

The entrance to the Bluelife Studios Airbnb

You've probably seen the gorgeous cave suites that overlook the ocean on every travel bloggers Instagram. If you have the cash to splurge a bit, then these places are definitely worth it.

If you're on a tight budget like I was, then an Airbnb is a great option. If you don't know Santorini well, take a look at the map below to get an idea of where you might want to stay. Luckily, Santorini is a small island and you can get to just about any part of it in a matter of a couple hours.

The Airbnb we chose is called Bluelife Studio and is actually a hotel. It has about 12-14 rooms and a small main lobby. We LOVED it! The owner is a friendly and helpful man and there are a few housekeepers who clean the rooms daily.

Our particular room had 3 beds, a small kitchenette with a sink, a table with a few chairs, and a bathroom with a toilet, shower, sink, and vanity mirror.

The Airbnb we stayed in was less than $80 a night and had complimentary breakfast every morning! The free breakfast saved us so much money and was the perfect start to each day before we headed out on our adventures. Most rooms had their own small patio seating and this is where we would eat our breakfast. It was simple, but perfect!

Since we didn't know much about Santorini before we planned our trip, our Airbnb ended up being a bit off the beaten path and away from the main tourist areas. This was nice because it was quiet and we had the whole area to ourselves, but we had to rely on buses and the private taxi service to get to the places we wanted to go.

We weren't completely secluded though! About a mile away there is a strip of restaurants/bars along a stunning black sand beach that we walked to almost daily. For reference, it is near Perivolos Beach and Perissa Beach. The restaurants were all amazing and had incredibly friendly staff. A post will come eventually about all the different places to eat around Santorini!

The Airbnb only had a few other hotels surrounding it and was a pretty sleepy area. We felt safe, but tried to get home before it got too dark outside since there was limited street lighting.

Overall, we were incredibly happy with our choice and loved this Airbnb. Bluelife has a range of properties and most seem to only be available peak tourist season in the summer. Our trip was beginning-mid June and that is just the beginning of the tourist season. The entire island of Santorini practically closes down during the off-season, which may be the reason this Airbnb is not active during Fall/Winter months.
